As close to a perfect dive bar as I’ve ever found. And I’ve looked pretty hard. I live over 2000 miles away from this place so my visits are less frequent than I’d like. But because I can’t shut up about it, people around the world know about it and anyone I know going to SF is going to stop in just to see if I’m telling the truth. Don’t go there expecting fine food, beautiful people, bartenders crafting exquisite drinks or a bathroom that doesn’t smell of urine from 1947.

Such an amazing place! Time seems not running. We heard a band on sunday, great musicians and a singer with a powerful and beautiful voice. I fell in love with a guy but I couldn't talk to him (I'm too shy)... It's the atmosphere, everyone is happy, enjoying music. I will come back in my next visit to San Francisco for sure! Tysm.

The Saloon was my favorite place on my recent visit to SF! Markelle and Shane are great bartenders. Went on a Sunday afternoon and listened to Blues Power put on a great show! Monday was even better with Peter Lindman and Roger Rocha (4 non blondes guitarist) putting on a great show and playing some songs by request! Later Monday night Mitch Polzak and his band were an excellent and lively honky tonk band with a packed house! So much fun!

This place have an amazing atmosphere, the music, but is almost drink place with not the special one, only drinks less than 10buvks. But, I love and is a experience you must go!

I Love the wonderful old ol’ skool San Francisco atmosphere of this lovely dive. It’s a must-stop every time I frequent Chinatown and North Beach. I mainly come for the live music, dancing, and great vibe. I also greatly appreciate the graceful bartenders who have grit and are attentive and ready for anything.

I have performed every month, every year, at The Saloon since 1987. The residency I have still is the most precious gift from any club owner. It has anchored me in blues and American roots. The musician is honored at The Saloon. We are treated like the special people we are. Myron Mu and his sister Vera that own the club are the kindest, the most loyal, and the most honest of people. They have rewarded consistent musicisnship with a gig! And it's a free and open atmosphere, with a rich history. A priceless music venue in North Beach.

Unreal. Incredible music. Great folks. Cash only.

Awesome band playing blues/country. A very local and non touristy place, an accidental find looking for a place to drink after dinner.
